Brandon and Jesyca

Over the years I wondered what might have become of us had we stayed in contact, but I never thought that I would ever have that opportunity. As fate would have it, one night I signed on to Facebook to find a “friend request” from her. I could hardly contain myself. Determined not to allow a golden opportunity to pass me by again, I swallowed my pride and asked her out. The rest, as they say, is history! The next year I moved to Knoxville to attend the same law school she just graduated from after visiting her and falling in love with her, the city and the school. Its cool that we attended high school and grad school together.

We are a fun, lively family of three, who will become four in April! Jim met Rosa when visiting the Domincan Republic and they quickly fell in love without even knowing the same language! 6 years later, we now live in the United States near Jim's family and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our second boy.

When I got an email from my friend Shelvis Smith-Mather asking me to pray I knew it was serious.  He emailed me from Keyna and in the email he described in detail the moments before, during, and after the birth of he and his wife Nancy's first born son.

Even though we couldn't have a legal wedding at the time, we wanted some photos of us as a couple to commemorate that year and our ceremony.

I am thankful that my kids are growing up around a diverse community which allows them to see that family is about love, respect, & life together not sameness.
